Abstract

The requirements to perform frame-rateconversion and high-quality 8bit on-screen display generation for data- and video-projectors with XGA to UXGA resolution are discussed. They can be met by an integrated memory Controller using low-cost SDRAMs. The architecture has been implemented and verified using FPGAs. An ASIC will give higher performance for a lower price and is currently under design.
